LEA WOOD ANNOUNCES CENTRAL GROUP RACINGS 2018 PICKUP TRUCK RACING CAMPAIGN…….
NEWS: Hereford based racer Lea Wood Racing will once again contest in the British Automobile Racing Club Pickup Truck Racing Championship in 2018, in the DLRD Ford Ranger Pickup Truck.
The former BTCC driver placed 3rd overall in the 2017 Pickup Championship standings, now has his sights set on the top spot of the podium for this season.
Wood and his team have been working hard throughout the off-season to make technical upgrades to his Ford powered machine as he heads into the 2018 Championship.
The teams loyal sponsor Central Roofing, has continued its commitment with the team, by this year proudly becoming the title sponsor. The Herefordshire firms director Phil Bufton said “we have sponsored the team for many years, we are extremely pleased to be associated with them, and hopefully help them to greater success in 2018.”
Wood commented “I’m very pleased to announce Central Roofing Building Services as this years title sponsors, the support these guys have shown throughout my racing career is unbeatable.
I’m enjoying my time in the Pickup, and the championship is very unique, I believe with the modifications made to #43 truck over the winter I’m in a very strong position”.
Lea warmly welcomes to the fold a new brand, Kempowell Electrical Services Ltd, who have showed their commitment off the back of a successful 2017.
Wood explains “to have a new company sponsor the team for 2018 is incredible and I’m looking forward to working with these guys closely for years to come”.

The Pickup Truck Racing Championship Calendar for 2018 comprises of 12 rounds, including some new additions for this season, Lydden Hill, Croft and Thruxton. As a past winner at many of the circuits in the lineup, Wood considers his experience to hold him in good stead for what’s to come this season.
As something a little different Wood is also turning his hand to the Citroen C1 Challenge as he competes in the 24H race at Rockingham on the 12th May (more details to follow).
